REMEMBER:
Ear wax removal through water irrigation can be incredibly beneficial but please DO NOT try to do it at home or remove your ear wax at home as it can lead to perferation of the ear drum. It is very tempting to use cotton buds but remember - nothing smaller than your elbow should enter your ear!

TIPS:
We always advise you to use warm olive oil in your ear for at least four days prior to your appointment. Olive oil will not remove the wax but does soften it which makes for a straightforward procedure.

​* You can use normal olive oil from your cupboard
​* Warm it up and test it on the inside of your wrist - if it feels comfortable on 
  your wrist it will be safe for your ear

* Tilt your head to one side and drop in a few drops
* Massage the oil in to your ear 
* Repeat at least twice a day for a minimum of 4 days

It will make you feel more deaf initially but do try to put up with it as it really does help!
